- inspiring a new generation of green and conscientious-living youth.
Reliance Compost launched their 'Growing Greener Generations’ excursion project this month, a campaign to inspire a new generation of green and conscientious-living youth.
"Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world" - Nelson Mandela.
The first school selected was Ronwe Primary in Paarl. Their Grade 6 learners joined in the green spirit with a visit to SANCCOB Saves Seabirds, where a message of conservation of our oceans, wetlands and our precious water resources were discussed. They even got to meet Rocky the famous penguin!
The educational excursions will take place every Friday, and will connnect and expose rural schools to our beautiful Western Cape. The programme will also include a tour of the Reliance Compost facility (teaching learners all about recycling green garden refuse to 100% organic compost) and anything from spending a day discovering the flora and fauna of Table Mountain, visiting Robben Island or Kirstenbosch Gardens, to name but a few.
