WEI is creating the first-ever map and report of the field of advocates for the rights of women and girls with disabilities globally

Initiatives focused on the accessibility and availability of anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) which is closely aligned to the South African Fix the Patent Law Campaign that we are participating in.

The meeting allowed a review of projects from a variety of countries, including Ghana, Viet Nam, Myanmar and Mozambique.

We were also invited by Women Enabled International, Inc (WEI) too assist with the mapping of the growing global field of disabled women’s rights advocates.  WEI is creating the first-ever map and report of the field of advocates for the rights of women and girls with disabilities globally.  This project provides an opportunity for collaboration and joint action among human rights advocates (within and outside the disability rights and women’s rights movements), a sense of the scope and depth of this growing field and serve as an empowering organising tool to share strategies.
