As part of a global declaration, launched in 2006 and revised in 2008, there remains a call to action to take immediate steps to reduce the global cancer burden by 2020. CANSA is taking the lead in South Africa with its ‘Together we are stronger’ campaign launched on World Cancer Day, February 4, 2011, and the signing of the 'Cancer-free' declaration by Sue Janse van Rensburg, CANSA CEO and cancer survivor of over 27 years.
