This week, non-profit organisation HIVSA rolled out 8 of the planned 40 innovative internet-connected youth hubs called Choma Dreams Cafés, which aim to reach vulnerable adolescent girls and young women with HIV prevention and social asset building programmes in safe, fun, girl-friendly and new ways. Ikusasa Lethu Youth Project, Persevere Until Something Happens (PUSH), Sizanani, South African Drug Abuse and AIDS Council (SADAAC), St Joseph Ithuteng, Diakonia Aids Ministry, Tshilidzi, and Humana People to People all NGOs in Gauteng, were the first to receive a Choma Dreams Café to support their work with adolescents and young women.  Over the next 4 months the project will hand over the balance of the 40 Café’s to community organisations and schools in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.   Read More...

Johannesburg, South Africa: Prestigious antique expert and host of online talk show, Guanfu Dudu in China, Mr Ma Weidu, recently visited South Africa for an educational experience that took place from 1 to 4 June. In a partnership between non-profit organisation The Living Link and Engen, these students have commenced a year-long ‘Adult Integration Programme’ aimed at integrating them into society, both in the work place and their communities.

Iain McIntosh, club chairperson, says the timing of the donation couldn’t be more perfect, as they are entering a new road cycling season with a number of newer members. “The committee I represent and our young riders have been very much looking forward to the arrival of the new kit. When Inako was born on 21 September 2016 at Cecilia Makiwane Hospital in East London, Eastern Cape, doctors realised that she had a hole in her heart. She was immediately transferred to the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital in Cape Town for surgery. Following her operation Inako spent time recovering in the hospital’s Paediatric ICU where she received excellent care from doctors and nurses who used state of the art medical equipment.   Read More...
