Image: Final Social Innovation challenge for YeBo Volunteers! Sophakama Primary School’s volunteers on the Year Beyond Programme took part in their final Social Innovation Challenge.

The theme this year was: “How to create a culture of reading?”

Volunteers had designed games and activities throughout the year and they had to present how they would implement these and at what cost. I’m thrilled to say that Thando’s team ‘Book Attack’ won this round! They created an interactive board game for learners to play, stories to read and comprehension to be tested.   Read More...

Sophakama Primary School in Dunoon has been awarded Certificates of Excellence from the Western Cape Education Department for their 2017 Foundation Phase Grade 3 systemic results: for Most Improved Language and Mathematics Pass Rates!
