Okuhle (pronounced Oh-koo-shlé) Media  is an award-winning media organisation that specialises in developing and facilitating CSI strategies that meet a company’s objectives.  We ensure that interventions achieve maximum impact for all beneficiaries and a company’s reputation, creating a sustainable lasting legacy and more importantly, offer a return on investment. 

Okuhle Media  is a vibrant media group based in Cape Town,  South Africa. Established in 2003, we are one of only a handful of female-owned, BEE Level 2 compliant media companies in South Africa.  

Everything we do is based on our philosophy of delivering beyond expectation.  This starts with the big idea and ends with the delivery of the final product!  In between combining the old fashioned ingredients of passion, respect, creativity, quality, fun and determination, it’s all about ensuring that delivery is beyond the clients’ or broadcasters’ wildest dreams.

Okuhle Media Marketing specialises in developing and facilitating CSI strategies that meet a company’s objectives.  We ensure that interventions achieve maximum impact for all beneficiaries and a company’s reputation, creating a sustainable lasting legacy and more importantly, offer a return on investment. 

Our area of expertise is operating within the school space and, over the past 11 years, we have developed and executed numerous school programmes that meet a brand’s needs, whilst effectively achieving a balance between the gains achieved by the school, the brand and the learners.  (You can see a few examples here.) Okuhle has a national infrastructure and develop and execute specific programs aimed at pre-schools, primary and secondary schools throughout South Africa.

 

 

Our experience within the schools’ market, documents the value of these programmes, showing a direct correlation between the need for alternative and creative teaching mechanisms and what the business sector can offer.  Research indicates that the economic, social and personal value of “investing” in education, and ultimately the lives of educators and learners, in a positive and constructive manner, provides long-term benefits for both the brand and the education process.

Curriculum-based school programs offer an ideal medium to communicate directly with a target market. You have a captive audience and they are in a controlled environment. Through this medium it is possible to access over a million children every year. This also provides indirect access to parents, teachers and friends. School programs are highly interactive and allow children to experience the message in a relevant and real way. We believe that to break through the clutter you have to create a true bonding experience and ensure a response to a message.  This is exactly what curriculum-based, educational programs do. 

Curriculum-based Educational Programs

Developed on the principle of providing educational resources for educators to improve their daily teaching lives, as well as to add value to the lives of the learners curriculum based programmes identify specific grades and develop tailor-made programs that take the company’s or brand’s story directly to the audience, portraying it in an educational and entertaining manner that meets the objectives.

Programmes can  include:

  • Class lessons presented by trained Class Representatives that take the programme to the schools.
  • Edu-modules that are developed in conjunction with educators and curriculum specialists to ensure programme is relevant for the grade.
  • Learner Worksheets - interactive and outcomes learning tools for learners and teachers.
  • Facility tours that provide learners with a curriculum relevant 1st hand experience in manufacturing and processing facilities
  •  

It must be noted that curriculum-based, school programs provide a platform for Marketing and the CSI/Community Relations departments to combine focus and maximise on the available budget by achieving multiple objectives at once.  While Roadshows and more entertainment focused elements are generally weighted towards marketing, class lessons and the accompanying elements (even though branded) are weighted towards CSI initiatives and provide 100% qualification for BEE compliance.
