The Balwin Foundation NPC was established in 2016 for the specific purpose of providing scholarships, bursaries, awards and loans for study, research and teaching. The Balwin Foundation promotes the development of knowledge and skills within the construction, property, engineering and associated disciplines.
The Foundation adds value to Balwin’s community social responsibility objectives whilst at the same time addressing Transformation Guidelines and implementing Employment Equity initiatives.

We do this through developing skills & educating, enhancing and uplifting the lives of the communities in which we operate in order to make a sustainable social impact.

To support Balwin Properties’ reputation as a responsible developer, the Balwin Foundation runs green and environmentally focused compost and vegetable farming training. We also work with organisations such as Wessa, offering various awareness programmes to local communities.
Apart from our Small Contractor Online Training Programme which is proving very popular, we also collaborate with other organisations such as the Master Builders Association (MBA) and the Ilembe Chamber of Commerce in KZN in running an Emerging Contractors Programme. We also work closely with Corobrik in offering intensive bricklaying training in KZN and the Cape
In 2021 the Balwin Foundation starting various schools programmes, run in partnership with local NGOs with the aim to develop a resilient generation able to challenge the growing unemployment rate among youth in SA. This includes personal development, entrepreneurship, essential skills, psycho-social interventions all to resilient, employable future-ready youth.
Supporting the vision of Balwin Properties Ltd CEO, our goal is to train at least 1000 people to swim. We work with various organisation offering swimming and water safety programmes.
