GFSA is a national NGO committed to reducing gun violence through public policy advocacy, education and awareness raising, and community mobilisation. For over 20 years we’ve worked to strengthen gun control policy and programming and the enforcement thereof through lobbying and advocacy.

Projects
Projects / Programmes
We’ve established www.safetytoolkit.org.za as a portal for anyone who wants to help build a safer community.- We have community outreach projects in Alexandra, Atlantis, Kwazakhele and Zwide where we work with schools and communities, creating volunteer opportunities for young people to make a difference in their communities.
- This is achieved through training, community dialogues and declaring schools as gun free zones thereby creating safe spaces for the youth to learn and build their skills.
- We partner with local community leaders, the SAPS, and youth-oriented organisations to help build a local youth-led network of people committed to public safety.
