1-About

The Alcardo Andrews Foundation is committed to uplifting and supporting the community through vital programs focused on fatherhood, youth development, food security and gardening, support for grieving moms and families and GBV awareness.

The Alcardo Andrews Foundation, established in 2015, aims to honor young men who have lost their lives to gang violence. Inspired by the tragic loss of her son, Avril Andrews founded the organization after uncovering the underlying challenges leading to such violence.

She began by reaching out to other mothers who experienced similar losses, forming a support group and the activist initiative known as Moms Move for Justice. From humble beginnings as a grassroots initiative, we have grown into a recognized organization making tangible impacts through our diverse programs. Key milestones include the successful launch of our Moms Move for Justice 2015 and the establishment of the Feeding Project in 2016 and our Hydroponics Garden in 2023.

The Foundation is a catalyst for change in communities subjected to social ills that include gang violence, substance abuse,  unemployment, poverty domestic and gender-based violence.
