Are Cans Better for the Environment? ♻
Author: riaan@wecanchange.co.za
Pollution, and plastic pollution, in particular, has an extremely detrimental impact on the environment. We believe that individuals can reduce their impact by making better purchase decisions and by supporting circular economies.
However, evaluating and selecting the least harmful materials is not always that clear. This July, Greenpop has partnered with CAN DO! to explore the environmental impact of aluminium cans, and whether cans are a more sustainable alternative to plastic.
The average person produces 1,4 kg of trash per day and more than 511 kg of trash per year.
Are cans more sustainable than plastic? Should you #CHOOSECANS?

Through a series of blog posts, videos and live interviews our team will investigate the sustainability of aluminium cans. Follow our campaign this month as we review product lifecycles, speak to local experts and compare cans to other packaging alternatives.
