Donate to Christel House SA before 28 Feb
Author: Christel House South Africa
Don't miss the 28 February deadline to make a donation and reduce your tax liability this financial year. Remember that when you donate to a registered Public Benefit Organisation like Christel House SA.
You not only support a worthy cause but you also reduce your tax burden with SARS. It’s a win-win!
When you make a donation to our school, we send you an 18A tax-deductible certificate for the value of your donation – which you then submit together with your annual tax return to SARS. In addition, as a business, you can receive B-BBEE points for your donations as more than 75% of our beneficiaries are Black (as per the Codes of Good Practice).
All of our admin, finance and fundraising costs are covered, which means that every donation made to Christel House directly benefits our students and helps to transform a life.
How your donation will make a difference:
• R300 provides two nutritious meals and snacks to a student for 1 month
• R400 buys stationery for 1 student for the whole year
• R750 covers the cost of a uniform and school shoes for 1 student
• R1 000 buys medical supplies for an entire class of 30 students for 1 year
• R5 000 feeds one student for an entire year

Congratulations to our new College and University graduates
We are proud to announce that 14 of our alumni graduated from university or college in 2021. Your donations provided our alumni with the opportunity to pursue their dreams - like Mujaahid George who is now a qualified dentist.
According to Statistics SA (2021), approximately 66.5% of our youth in South Africa are unemployed. Of those who have a degree, 12.5% are unemployed – proving that the chance of employment significantly increases with a degree.
Well done to our new graduates and thank you to our Career Development team for supporting our alumni.

This year, our school will participate in Greenpop's Family Food Garden project, which aims to address food inaccessibility and financial insecurity by equipping individuals with the skills to sustainably grow their own food at home.
With the help of our donor, Naked as well as Greenpop and Urban Harvest Edible Gardens, each of the twenty parents participating in the programme will receive in-person and digital training workshops as well as Family Garden Pods. Our parents recently attended their first workshop where they received their pods, training materials, and planted their first seedlings.
