Plant a tree for Arbor Month!

It's been a wild 18 months for us all. The isolation, disruption and unpredictability feels overwhelming.

When the first lockdown hit in March 2020, we adapted in order to ensure that 25,000 trees could still be planted in 2020 - thanks to our incredible project partners.

But we haven’t been able to run our get-active-not-anxious events since June 2019 and we’re longing to get back into the planting field. Greenpop is centred around community - when we started 11 years ago in September 2010 with the idea to plant 1000 trees to revive Arbor Month, it was the gathering together of people from all walks of life that gave us momentum.

It was the connections created with hands in the soil that started the incredible network of support, love and action that made us resilient and took us way beyond our initial 1000 tree goal.

Now it’s Arbor Month again and Greenpop’s 11th birthday… and we’re going planting! 

With spades in hand (and masks on faces), we’re heading to the Garden Route to host the Eden Festival of Action 2021. Over a 1-week period, we will plant 2000 trees and shine a light on the creative ways people are restoring nature.

This year for our birthday, we’re asking everyone in our community to donate a tree to help us bring Arbor Month back.

For every R120/$8 donated we are able to plant, maintain and monitor a tree in one of our forest restoration projects across Sub-Saharan Africa.
