#Pledge67 Campaign

Mandela Day celebrated on July 18, is an annual international day adopted by South Africa as well as the United Nations. It is more than a celebration of Nelson Mandela’s life and legacy; it is a global movement to take his life’s work into a new era and change our world for the better.

As the Salesian Institute Youth Projects, we embrace the chance to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s life for the whole of July. The humanitarian intent behind volunteering 67 minutes on the 18th of July is to improve the welfare of others while celebrating the fact that each individual has the potential to transform the world.

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our #Pledge67 campaign will be mostly digital!

The Salesian Institute Youth Projects has been assisting youth in need since 1910 here in Cape Town. Since then, we have focused 100% on providing the much-needed help our youth requires and our commitment to them will not falter as long as we have funding in place.

To this end, SIYP is seeking support in the form of donations, however big or small, that will assist a learner with food, learning materials, and psycho-social support or a young adult with much-needed skills development training and workplace readiness support.
