Support Enquiry for bright autistic child

Author: info@klassikdigital.co.za

I have always known I wanted to be a mom, before anything else in my life, and I love both my children fiercely. As any mom would, I just want to be able to provide the best possible start for my children.

I'd like to tell you about my eldest son, who we know as our rainbow baby - a baby born after a miscarriage or infant loss. My 6yr old son is an intelligent and curious little boy who loves art, maths, science and takes any opportunity to learn. He is also Neurodivergent. He is currently enrolled in a wonderfully inclusive and supportive mainstream state school who are providing an excellent foundation for him. However he requires the support of a private facilitator to assist with his emotional regulation, social interaction and sensory support needs. The school was generous enough to supply an interim facilitator for the first two terms, and we've seen what a significant difference it made to his learning experience. However this interim solution comes to an end in June wherafter it will be on us to employ someone privately.

Unfortunately, my husband and I have been struggling with covering all his different supports from the EdPsych to OT and ensuring that he is receiving all the learning supports required. Financially, we have barely been able to make ends meet, so privately employing someone ourselves is out of our reach.

I am now appealing to anyone who can assist to help us cover the cost of an in school facilitator to help my boy thrive. We have started a Back a Buddy campaign just to try to raise enough funds for his supports for the rest of this year. Please find the link below:

If there are any generous benefactors out there who would like to reach out and support my beautiful little boy on an ongoing basis, please feel free to email us on lowtonfam@gmail.com. We can provide further information and provide updates as needed from his school. They say it takes a village, and I am now reaching out to try to find mine.
